What does this policy cover?
This privacy policy ("Policy") sets out how the Company collect, use, store and disclose personal information of an individual, company or other entity (a “person”) when the person interacts with the Company (for example when a person completes an application to the Company, purchases good or services from the Company, whether for trade in the course of conducting a business, via our website or directly, joins or uses any of the Company’s programmes or services, use any of the Company’s website or deal with any of the Company’s team members).
The Company values the Company’s relationship with all of the Company’s customers and other persons it interacts with the Company and is committed to respecting their privacy and meeting the Company’s privacy obligations. By providing the Company with personal information or using the Company’s services, each person agrees to this Policy. If the person gives the Company information about anyone else, then that person must have agreed to them giving the Company their information.
There may also be times when the Company needs to change this Policy. When the Company does so, it will inform its customers about any changes. This may be by posting an updated policy on the Company’s website or sending an email. Any changes will take effect from when the Company publish the updated Policy, so please check the Company’s Policy and the Company’s website from time to time.
This Policy is subject to and should be read in conjunction with any other terms and conditions a person agrees to when acquiring products or services from the Company or using or signing up to any of the Company’s subscriptions, services or promotions.
When the Company refers to "the Company" and "the Company’s" in the Policy, the Company means Eat Real Good Limited (Company Number 8199606).
What is personal information?
Personal information is defined in the New Zealand Privacy Act. It means information about an identifiable person and refers to any information which may be able to identify them, such as their name, date of birth, phone numbers, customer number, audio recordings of them, their IP address, email or other contact addresses.
What personal information does the Company collect?
The personal information the Company may collect includes a person’s:
- name, contact details (such as their email and phone number), delivery address and payment information;
- phone conversations with the Company’s staff, which may be recorded;
- email communications, their communications with the Company over social media and their written and verbal interactions with the Company;
- details of the products or services a person has purchased from the Company;
- their interests and preferences in the Company’s products and services, such as survey and product rating data;
- account, payment and credit information;
- any details a person gives the Company when they purchase products or services from the Company, or they sign up to one of the Company’s promotions, loyalty programs or competitions;
- details of their household (such as the number of members), if they provide this information to the Company;
- details about their IP address, computer, mobile device, operating system and other usage information if they visit the Company via the Company’s website; and;
- any other information a person provides to the Company.
What happens when someone visits the Company’s website?
When anyone visits or uses the Company’s website, the Company collects information, (including the IP address of their machine or device), the operating system and the browser their machine or device uses, the date and time they are visiting and the pages they view.
The Company’s website may also collect information through the use of "cookies" in order to provide better customer service. "Cookies" are small files that websites place on their computer to identify a person and enhance their website experience. Any person may set their browsers to provide notice before they receive a cookie, giving them the opportunity to decide whether to accept the cookie. the person may also set their browser to turn off cookies. However, if they do so, some areas of the Company’s website may not function properly. The Company use cookies to understand and improve a person’s online experience. The Company may use cookies to:
- learn about their preferences, including for the Company’s products and services, so that the Company may present them with content that is relevant to them;
- improve the Company’s products and services;
- monitor the use of the Company’s website, including collecting data on web traffic and activity, to operate it efficiently and functionally;
- measure the effectiveness of the Company’s marketing initiatives, and the Company’s advertising referrals and collect analytic data.
Information regarding their usage of the Company’s website is collected to help the Company offer the services a person needs each time they visit and to improve the Company’s services generally. the Company may also use this information to improve the Company’s advertising and marketing of related products and services.
How does the Company collect an individual’s information?
The Company collects personal information directly from a person when they:
- Makes an application for credit with the Company
- Uses any of our ordering software
- Orders or buy any products or services from the Company
- Register for and use the Company’s subscription based service.
- Visit the Company’s website.
- Participate in a survey, promotion or competition.
- Communicate with the Company, including online (e.g through the Company’s social media channels) and with the Company’s staff
The Company may collect personal information from other sources, if it’s relevant to a particular promotion, programme or service, such as Meta competitions.
The Company is careful about collecting anyone’s information from other sources and ensures the Company comply with the Privacy Act 2020.
How the Company uses a person’s information?
The Company may use a person’s personal information:
- so that the Company may provide them with the Company’s products, services, information (including delivery updates and customer support) and to respond to them when they make contact with the Company;
- to ensure their eligibility for the Company’s services (including assessing a person’s credit-worthiness);
- to comply with the Company’s obligations to them and other third parties involved in the supply of the Company’s products to their property;
- to improve or update the Company’s services, products and the Company’s website and help them access new ways to use the Company’s services;
- for internal purposes like processing transactions, administering their account, staff training and billing;
- to inform them about product, services and specials that might be of interest to them from the Company and trusted partners. The Company might do this via different channels including emailing, phone and SMS;

- so the Company may administer prize competitions. Please be aware that, in some cases, a person may be automatically entered into a competition by purchasing an eligible product over a specified number of weeks; the Company would send that person an email to advise of this; and
- for the purposes of any sale, transfer or assignment of any shares in the Company, any part of the Company’s business or the Company’s entire business.
By providing an email address or mobile phone number to the Company, the person consents to the Company sending their information connected with the above purposes via email or text message.
Please note that starting a new subscription or making a new purchase from the Company will reset a person’s email communication preferences.
Opting out of direct marketing preferences
Any retail Customer of the Company may opt out of receiving marketing and promotional messages at any time, by doing one of the following:
- clicking the unsubscribe button in an email to stop promotional emails or change communication preferences;
- responding to any text/SMS STOP to stop promotional text messages;
- calling the Company, emailing them at info@saldjar.co.nz or contacting the Company via Webchat from the Company’s website to stop all marketing.
Accessing or correcting personal information?
A person may ask to access their personal information, or correct it, at any time by contacting the Company using the details below. Before the Company’s provide them with access to their information, the Company may require some proof of identity. Please see details at the end of this Policy.
Any person who buys products from us on our website may also update their personal information, and change their preferences, on the Company’s website www.saladjar.co.nz in their account.
To whom does the Company disclose personal information?
The Company understand that a person’s personal information belongs to them, and that they trust the Company to keep it safe and secure. The Company is committed to protecting an individual’s personal information. Sometimes, the Company will share a person’s personal information for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. That includes:
- where they have authorised the Company to do so;
- to service providers who help the Company provide the Company’s products and services to them. For example:
Ø logistics and delivery providers who help the Company deliver their order;
Ø advertising, social media and search engine companies, such as Meta and Google, where the Company pay for advertisements to be shown. the Company provide them with a limited amount of that individual’s information, to help them target this advertising for them on their platforms;
- advertising, analytics and research partners who help the Company understand insights about a person and provide more tailored services;
- credit checking or debt collection agencies;
- to competition partners that the Company collaborate with on competitions including so people may receive prizes;
- to third parties for the purposes of any financing, sale, transfer or assignment of any part of the Company’s business or the Company’s entire business;
- to decision makers who help to resolve a complaint the person makes about the Company; and
- to meet the Company’s legal obligations or where the Company is entitled, required or permitted to under the Privacy Act or any other law. For example, where disclosure is to a law enforcement agency that is entitled to such information under its statutory powers.
Other important things to know
A Customer’s personal information is collected and stored by the Company. the Company will take reasonable steps to protect personal information that is held by the Company from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. When someone’s personal information is held by the Company, it may only be accessed by the Company’s authorised staff or representatives when required for the purposes set out in this Policy. Access is subject to strict log in requirements, and the Company have systems in place to prevent unauthorised access.
Some of the Company’s data is stored outside of New Zealand. When the Company store or send data overseas, the Company will ensure that adequate systems are in place to protect a person’s information as required under the Privacy Act.
Please note that the Company do not hold full Payment Method details for our online customers as this service is operated by Shopify Pay and covered by its privacy policy.

Under the Privacy Act, each person has the right to request to obtain, or have corrected, any personal information the Company hold about them where that information may be readily accessed and retrieved.
